I finally decided to get a Pinterest account a few weeks ago. I'd never bothered before because I seemed to get a lot of traffic from there to flickr and etsy, so thought that anything relevant was already pinned.
I was looking at the 'analytics' and stats etc, and in just under a month I've had 7,000 unique views, my top viewed pic has 1,254 views and the next one 970, and a lot of the pics get around 500 views soon after posting.
It sounds impressive, but I have no idea if it is? Anyone with a Pinterest have any insight?
Also, do increased views ever lead to increased sales?

Pinterest drives a lot of traffic to our blog Zed but I don't know if any sales result from it.
Pinterest is the site to go to for ideas and inspiration on just about any subject you're interested in.

I have no idea about stats on Pinterest. I have not been using it much lately.

I don’t know the answer but it does sound impressive. I don’t post pictures there but use it exactly as Lyn describes - to browse for ideas / see what other people have made on a particular theme. I do follow links and have probably signed up to follow blogs. I’ve only once bought something as a result which was a beading pattern.

I don't go often. I am usually looking for interesting inspiration. It is an odd place. one pin I made to my spindle page seems to get liked a lot and I pinned it from someone else. I don't know why mine would be popping up and not the other one. I didn't realise there where stats available. It makes sense though people do seem to use it for business. sorry, I am no help.

Thanks for the replies I thought that since most of my traffic/clicks come from Pinterest, it couldn't hurt to put up stuff myself and be able to direct people more to etsy/my blog rather than just flickr or a post. I can't tell if there's been increased traffic though.
