My husband was critiquing my fence. He said the posts were to close together. I fixed it a bit on the top one. then my pencil fell apart. I was using a fat, flat mechanical pencil.

Company left so I spent the morning getting my studio back to normal. I was getting antsy not being able to pop into my studio whenever I wanted and do a bit of creative work. Plus I had to clean everything up and now I can't find anything But back to normal now and no company again for a while. Sorry about the whining.

I have been trying to sort my corner of the living room. the cats have been walking over it and sending it all this way and that. Partly my fault for having to much stuff out but my cats are clumsy.

I re-arranged my computer room so I can have my table in front of the window, and hopefully get some use out of it till I can get a whole room. I discovered two boxes underneath with pencil roving waste, knitting and handmade yarns!

I haven’t been into the studio for weeks now and, much like others, get rather twitchy when I’m not making things. I also have commissions to make and an exhibition coming up so really must make some work. Most of all I miss the feel and smell of the wool!
I had to take lots of pictures, frames & boxes of stuff out of my house to make room for visitors - all of which I dumped in my small studio which makes it completely unusable. I don’t really want to fill up the spare bedroom again by transporting everything back home (it’s about 8 miles away) but I can’t use the studio as it is so I’m in a bit of a quandary.
Because of other commitments I haven’t been able to address it but today I’m going in for at least a couple of hours to try to start to create some order. Wish me luck!
On the up side - I’ve almost finished my necklace as I’ve been diverting my desire to create into beading. Will post a photo when it’s finished.

I love finding things I have forgotten about. we must all get the clean and rearrange bug after the holidays. My biggest problem is I hate to throw anything out. I do not know how I we have collected so much "good" stuff. but if we continue to accumulate at the same rate in the next 50 years, they may never find my body when I die. My post about pots within pots and the disastrous one are up on the blog. feltingandfiberstudio.com/2019/01/06/pots-within-pots/

Hi Ann I said in my comments on your blog that I’d post a couple of photos of pots within pots made by putting cling film between the layers around a single resist. I made these quite a few years ago but think on reflection they were made around a small inflatable ball but the principle is the same as a flat resist.

Lovely pots but also lovely photos of them taken with the sea as a background.

Nice pots Lindsay. I like these too, this is a good method if you want more than two as well. If you want small holes in the outer pot it would work better too

My daily dose is cutting out a 3 pot resist for a pot within a pot experiment. I didn't have enough time to layout the wool for that so make a small round resist to try out Lindsay's method above. I think I should have felted each layer a bit before adding the next but I didn't and its to late now so we will see how it turns out. I rubbed it a bit and now it's on its first tumble. And I have to go to work. Fingers Crossed it works out.

I will be interested to see how it comes out Ann. I have been doing some of my least favorite things, finishing and framing. Why don't they frame themselves?

Inspired by Lindsay and Ann I made my first scarf with a ruffled edge. I used three layers of merino in the middle with a few wisps of silk on top and one layer of a merino silk blend around the edge for the ruffles but the edge didn't ruffle as much as I was expecting and the ruffle is more cobweb like than I wanted. Any ideas about how to do better next time would be much appreciated
