Has anyone ever had a go at those large felted floor stones? how would go about making one? I'm wondering if there are any shortcuts to the felting process?

Haven't tried them Carole. I am assuming you mean the 3D stones that are connected together to make a stone rug? I might try making them in a panty hose, separating the stones from each other by tying the leg and throwing them in the washing machine. They would have to be wrapped fairly tightly and perhaps needled a bit to hold their shapes.

I haven’t tried it, but have seen stone type rugs on Pinterest that use foam.

Carole - do you mean the furniture sized rocks? If so, see the Etsy link below - the felter fills them with polyurethane foam flakes so I'm wondering if it's giant resist work with a small hole where the resist comes out of, and the flakes go in to, and maybe the hole is covered by a label? Just guessing. felt floor rocks

I am with Lyn on the furniture. Possibly a bigger hole so you can put a liner in and a zipper. small ones I would do in the washer for sure. You can reshape them quite a lot while they are wet when they come out of the washer. I would do that and then let them dry naturally so they keep the shape. I have never made any over foam.

I was thinking about the large furniture floor stones, I've checked the link Lyn and that's exactly what I was thinking about - they do look like a lot of hard work - one for the back burner :-)

It's like making a large cat cave but stuffing it with form instead of a cat
