Back from vacation and looking at the Cloth, Paper Scissors challenge for Mixed Media Felt. They are asking for a low resolution photo to be submitted by email. What is considered low resolution? 100 X 80 size? I am not sure how to copy and paste pictures from my Windows picture program. I can do this when I copy from my blog, but I have to do attachments from my Windows Live picture program. So, can I send them an attachment? Not sure.

I have not used that program but you could save the photo from your blot and then email that.

Yes, that seems to be the best way to do it. However, I can also do a copy, paste from Facebook. So I may just upload the 2 pictures onto FB. One is a full view, the other is a closeup.

My 10mp camera has a 480 resolution, so 200 would probably be considered quite low. I think generally if you download anything from the internet it is 72. Didn't they give a size in kilobytes or mbs?

If the picture is on you computer and you are sending an email you can send it as an attachment. Up above where you put who it's to, there a picture of a paperclip. Click that and it should open a window that will let you find the picture you want to attach. It will not show in the written part of the email, it will show as an attachment. The picture editer should let you save a picture as email size or web small. change the name of the picture name (add the workd small) so you still have the original. To do that use the "save as' instead as the save button in the "file"drop down box.
Hope that helps.

Yes, I do know how to make attachments, but the instructions looked like you need to send them as and email. The instructions were very vague with no specifics. However, I decided to load the pictures onto my blog which does and automatic resize. I figured that it would probably be the best solution. I was then able to do a "copy image" and put it right on the email itself. Then they suggested that you upload the image to their website on the communities page. But when I went to that page, I found so many comments about people not being able to upload their pictures, I decided to skip that part. It is just optional anyway. Has anyone else tried to enter this challenge?

It would probably take a real miracle for me to get accepted, but I have entered competitions before with this same attitude, and got in. You really never know.

I had a disastrous start and my attempt nearly hit the bin, but I rescued it and really enjoyed working on a mixed media piece. I'm pleased with the result and I now need to get a decent photo to send off. I presume it's the done thing to wait until after the deadline before posting an image anywhere.

You are allowed to post it on their forum site. So it seems to me you could post it.

Right-o. I've posted. Here it is if you're interested. Click on the red, underlined title 'Postcard from Penzance' to see the bigger picture and text explanation. www.clothpaperscissors.com/media/g/felted/default.aspxp.s. One thing bothering me - when I went to upload my image I looked at all the others. Guess what? There's a pirate parrot been entered. Doh!
