After my first experiment with making felted richelieu I was encouraged and made a blouse for myself. I wanted to make something light, summery. I used margelan gauze for the base, 60 gr of 18 mic merino wool and lots of silk handkerhiefs to add interesting texture with some viscose fibers on to to add lustre. There was a lot of preparation; it took me one day only for preparing prefelt, dryiing it, cutting out shapes, etc. All in all it took me three days to make it. Here it is: layout first www.ipernity.com/doc/724735/44842832 and then the finished product. www.ipernity.com/doc/724735/44842836 www.ipernity.com/doc/724735/44842844 www.ipernity.com/doc/724735/44842842 www.ipernity.com/doc/724735/44842846Even though I used little wool I think that the felt is a bit too thick. Probably it is due to so many handkerchiefs I used, so next time I make a light blouse I need to think of something thinner and lighter.

It's absolutely gorgeous. I love the colours and I've never heard of felted richelieu before - is that the piece around the neckline with the flowers?
I hope you get a great deal of enjoyment from wearing it

Thanky you Marian and Ann. I actually "invented" this name because it reminds me of richelieu. After making my first experiment which I posted here as well I got encouraged and made this blouse. It is very light and soft and I'm already wearing it.

This is the continuation of my experiments with "richelieu" technique. This time I decided to make a blouse using cotton gauze instead of margelan silk. I made prefelt first (two shades of fine blue merino wool, laid in different directions to prevent too much migration), dyed silk hankies on top and added some viscose fibers. It requires a lot of preparation before you start felting: making and drying prefelt, dyeing gauze and handkerchiefs. In this case I cut out only strips and laid them down on gauze. The results can be seen here: www.ipernity.com/doc/724735/44929584 and a close-up photo www.ipernity.com/doc/724735/44929586 What is intresting is that it is not only a seamles blouse, it is also reversible. I cannot decide which side I like better. This is the reverse side: www.ipernity.com/doc/724735/44929588 www.ipernity.com/doc/724735/44929592

Another really beautiful blouse Nada, and the reversible aspect is very very clever, great job.
