This is a bibble hat I made. It started out as the renicance hat from Chad Alice Hagans hat book. I made it to show a class. It really is not a good hat, looks lovley in the picture but that it. So I thought it would be a good one to experiment with. It endedup to small for a hat but inside out it looks like some kind of monster from sesame street. bubble hat inside by Shepherdessann, on Flickr bubble hat by Shepherdessann, on Flickr

It does look sort of fish like in the first photo. It's hard to do bubbles and get a good shape at the same time, isn't it?

It does look like some strange life form which could just slither off at any moment! Beautiful blues though!

I have a question. What is prefelt? I have seen those bubbles in fiber art before. Had no idea how they made them.

Prefelt- felt that has not been fulled or shrunk down completely. It can be purchased- this type is usually needle felted on a large machine. You can make it yourself on your needle felting machine. Or you can make it by wet felting but stopping before fulling. It will still felt to other pieces or it can be shaped as above.
