I thought this was really interesting. It shows the whole manufacturing process and how they are felted by machine. www.stetsonhat.com/video.php

Phew! What a lengthy process, and I wouldn't fancy doing any of those jobs all day every day!
You can understand why the hats are so expensive when you see what goes into the making of them.
Very interesting clip.

I especially like the one where the guy took the wet felt off the cone "with great care" or something like that. It looked to me like he just dumped it off.

What a process! You never think about how much goes into such a simple product. I know that many years ago, hats were made by hand. Well, I couldn't work there, as I am allergic to rabbits. lol

I think there are less people in the whole state of Montana than in my City, so there must be a lot of cowboys!

We have less than a million in the state. Must be those wannabe cowboys from New York City.

I wouldn't want to make one by hand. It would take a long time. I've seen one old wood cut of hand felting and they are dipping them in hot water and the people in it look miserable. I wouldn't have thought there where that many beavers still being trapped for fur. I have never seen it for sale anywhere. They definitely have a different definition of careful than I do.

That was very interesting! Lost count of the number of processes, but don't think my fingers and toes would be enough ;0)
If that's careful handling I'm a monkey's uncle! No need to agree thank you ;0)
