Hello everyone. Whilst making my simple acorn garland, I thought a brooch would look ok too. I actually made two but gave one to a pal to wear as we were going to an Autumn gift fair yesterday, well you have to look the part don't you?! I got the idea after Lyn posted her lovely Autumn bowl. I actually put lots of snips of prefelt colours onto Antique from WOW, but they seemed to have been swallowed up! For the photo, I thought it would look good next to the mass of fungi on our tree stump, how arty is that??!
Feel free to think the fungi looks the most stunning!!!! www.dropbox.com/s/6vp3xcr2vpnzi36/20161031_133135-1.jpg?dl=0

Good idea to put the acorns on a leaf for a brooch! It's very pretty - I can imagine it looking good on almost every colour of jacket/cardi/shawl/dress/blouse.

Very pretty! You've got me scouting the ground for acorn tops, too. They seem to be quite small where I live. Maybe can make a garland for the Christmas tree. Or a creative brooch like yours!

Thanks so much Tricia. Small cups look cute. I landed on one acorn fall from a tree where the cups were HUGE and DEEP, I thought I have hit the jackpot here, and gathered up loads like a child in a sweetshop, then realised the acorns are then huge to fill them! A mix is nice.

I can send you a kilo or two of all sizes. On the corner of my street is a burr oak. Their acorn caps can get 1" (2.5 cm) in diameter!!

Elizabeth, wow! That would be great! However, maybe I'd better see what I can do with smaller ones first. I'll let you know, ok? Thank you!

That's delightful. Do you glue the needle felted acorns into the cups?

Oh thanks Jill! Yes I glued them in, but I liked the 'multiple branch' look to that little sprig which is why I turned it into a brooch instead of the garland.
