Just saw this lovely bag and super-cute hedgehog on Pinterest and wondering how she made the spines... Any ideas? I find it hard to believe she made and attached that many felt ropes! link

I don't think the spines are felted ropes. I would ask the artist how she made them.

That looks like some kind of fake fur to me. It doesn't look felted.

It almost looks like yarn close up. Perhaps with a stiffener?

I think I will go with Ruth that is some kind of fun fur.

Yeah, fur fabric, sewn on would be my guess too

My daughter once made a needle felted hedgehog, so I've seen it real!

I couldn't get translate to work. Is it wool?

The is a revers needle you can get. it pulls little tufts of wool up. they use it to make fuzzy animals. I remember hearing about it a few years ago but I don't know much about it.

I've never used them, but World of Wool have reverse felting needles which they say are good for making fur and doll hair effects.

I just saw them advertised recently, I haven't tried them, but they sound like a good idea.
