Great purse. the red flower really sets it off
Lovely fleeces. I would fight you for the expresso one. Do a test with the Texel if you plan to felt it. Never seen a black one. The only one I tried did not felt well. Makes lovely lofty yarn.

Daily for today is a few felted soaps for the stall. I am spending this afternoon on the sewing machine finishing off two fox bonnets and my cape neckline. In all it will be a productive day. Last night I finished off the trim on a hat and knitted a trim for another pink bonnet...getting there. This orange hat is drying,Needs an edge trim yet. I was just trying out decoration - what do you think? The brooch is antique and is my daughter's choice. But then how do I price it? Attachments:

Sue, the soaps and hats are great. I have no idea how to price the hat with the brooch, just don't give it away. I'd price it high with a sign it is an antique brooch.

Lovely hats, Sue. I like the decoration on both of them. How to price them? This is my constant problem.

Fab hats Sue! I love the brooch and feathers decoration too, I assume you did not buy the brooch? Have you seen similar brooches for sale elsewhere (Etsy vintage might be a good place to look), then add the price of the hat....

I know there are formulas for pricing, like your hourly wage x hours spent, plus costs etc, but I think buying/selling is more about psychology. If there will be people there who'll pay what it is 'worth', then double or triple it. If no one buys it, it will at least attract attention and make your other stuff look more affordable. If you just want a sale, sell it cheaply, but there's a risk of devaluing your other work. And it makes people expect all handmade stuff to be cheap.

oh dear looking at the orange hat at the same time as reading, the first thing I thought was that it was a claw with feathers. They look great. with the antique broach it should be over $100.

Sue, the orange hat is stunning! I don’t mind the plain edge but you could add black silk ribbon or trim, hand embroidered on the felt. Now the brooch--what about making it optional? Two prices, with or without?

Judith, my grandma had one of those funny dryer racks in her back yard. Forget what you call them… You will definitely put it to good use!

I had to go back and check what you meant by 'funny dryer racks', cathy Rotary Clothes line, or Rotary Washing line, we call them. I'd be lost without mine.
