Well here we are after 4 days drop spindling. 100 gms/ 95 yards of de-haired baby camel fibre. It's a fairly even 11 wpi, so a sportweight/dk, which is the thickest of my preferred knitting yarns. Can't make much with that amount and I don't have any more of this fibre, so it will have to be made up with a contrast of some description. What do you think - Cream perhaps, or should I put some colour in there? The DIY niddy noddy works a treat! flic.kr/p/DKaM97

A beigey cream would look nice with that.
I don't know knitting weights of wool, what is sportweight/dk (double knitting?) usually used for?

Yes, I was thinking 'coffee and cream' would look nice. I'll have to search my stash for some special fibre to go with tHe camel. Sportweight/ double knitting is probably the most popular weight as it knits up quickly without being overly bulky. Used for jumpers, hats, scarves, etc. there are usually more patterns available for this weight. Oops, jumpers are sweaters across the pond.

Quite an achievement Judith - lovely skein. Yes, I agree, cream would look good.
A sweater could make you be just that...but it's such an unattractive word for a pretty jumper.

Great work Judith. I think cream would be nice but also perhaps a lighter shade of brown tending towards red would be good too. Or both.

It looks lovely Judith, if you fancy a darker overall colour I think it would look great with a forest / bottle green too...

Very nice, my baby camel is beige. I like beige or a redy brown.
