We all seem to have areas in which we excel, and I have discovered over the past couple of years that resist work is the most difficult for me. I like doing surface design--and that usually goes well, as do my landscapes--which are a combo of wet-felting and needle-felting. But we challenge ourselves doing what doesn’t come easy. All depends on the mood of the day!

My daily dose was completing cat cave #2! And it doubles as the 1st Qtr. Challenge! Not until you post photos, Cathy!!!

Jill - if they are fibre balls (either wool or non-felting fibre) under a layer of wool can squish them into shape while your urchin is still wet? I find rolling felt with those sorts of inclusions makes them look flat and uninteresting (more like poorly made felt than a deliberate design) but squishing them from the sides makes the pop up again... Alternatively, could you needle-felt some taller bumps on the surface. I'll shut up now, if you are anything like me you might be feeling too disappointed to even look at it right now (that is what the UFO box is for! )

Well done Cathy. How much wool did it take to make this cat cave?

I have been cleaning and organizing and I must say some sad looking things that did not work out as planned landed in the bin too!

Was I the only one who read Zed's post about hoarding everything for Q4? I don't need to be told twice you can always turn your bins into ufo boxes for the rest of the year!

Halay, I used about 13 ounces of wool for the cat cave. It was NZ Perendale batts (loganberry), white mystery wool, and Navajo churro with some egg yolk merino (inside, last layer). So that sounds about right with the chart you posted.

That's a shame about the yak scarf, Nada I made myself one and it was so lovely.

I've recently turned a dyed, nuno felted and embellished scarf into a neck warmer, I cut it up (mainly because some said it looked like a towel from a butchers!!! put me off it, as I think they were right. It has become handwarmers and neck warmers

I loved the scarf until you disclosed the "butchers towel" description, now all I can see is blood Great idea to recycle though

Yes, the description was very cruel, but it prompted you make the hand and neck warmers which are really pretty.
