Planting a dye garden will be fun for you, Judith. Are you going to try indigo as well? I had thought of Woad rather than Indigo. It's native, hardier and gives very similar colours.

Lucky you, Marilyn! I thought I would pick up walnuts for dyeing while in Houston visiting my son last week, but it turns out the walnut trees have died, and the fig trees, too! I was really bummed out. He lives in the country, and apparently some type of worm disease struck in the last couple of years. Sad. They were everywhere I could only pick up five which was all I could hold in my hands on the way back to the car. That's a shame about the trees in Houston. That's like our Dutch Elm disease here.

They are all really gorgeous. I love the subtle tones of colour you are getting with your eco prints. Thank you so much for sharing the pictures.

Judith your Eco prints are far from boring. They are beautiful and very inspiring. I really like seeing what you have made. One day, I'd like to try this and if I could get anything remotely close to what you have achieved; I'd be thrilled. Keep those photos coming!

Hello Judith, very lovely eco printing indeed... This year I planted some trees just for their lovely leaves.. A lady at our farmer market who sell herbs gave me some of her bee balm plants.. The pink flowers you can use to dye cloth pink...
I must hurry around and collect some leaves so I will have some for this winter to play with..

We're done here. I tried with some of the last flowers and leaves, but without success. Next spring maybe.

Marilyn, I am told that Fall leaves give great prints.. I plan to use them this coming week so we shall see if fall leaves really do print better... Smile..
