Hello everyone - I am really missing my Daily Dose - My husband was in the hospital with pneumonia and a abscess on his lung for about 11 days and he has now been in rehab for a week. He will be on IV antibiotics for another couple of weeks as well as receiving physical therapy (for mobility) and speech therapy to help him learn to swallow so he does not aspirate his food. This has been very hard on him - he has COPD and thenataxia which causes mobility problems with out getting weak from being ill. He is almost 20 years older than me and will be 86 August 7.
I spend 4 to 6 hours a day with him so I have no time for felting. As soon as he is well enough we will go back to our home in North Georgia where we have family that can help us out.
I do try and read the posts every couple of days and enjoy seeing what you all are creating.

Frances - thanks for the update. Take care of yourself too - I know how hard it is to be a caregiver. I hope that you can get back to felting soon.

Frances, so sorry to hear about your husband’s ill health. Wishing a speedy recovery. Have you tried to take a small piece of hand-embroidery with you? It would help pass the time.

So sorry to hear that you both are going through all that. I'm sure he's as tired of it as you are. Sending happy thoughts your way...

Frances, I'm glad to hear your husband is making some progress, although painfully slow. At least you can think about felting. I know how draining being a caregiver can be. Sending you both good thoughts for a speedy and full recovery. Hang in there!

Thanks, Judith My daily dose today was carding some wool tops together that Judith sent me for the well-being centre. Yesterday a friend came around to help me practise my people-skills for MakeFest. I'm going to have to write 'scales' on my hand, I can never think of the word. I completely overestimated how easy people would find it and underestimated how much room people would need.

I did some dyeing today and made a couple of samples.
Zed, good luck with Makefest!

My daily dose today was a double-dose! I finished doing some highlighting work with hand-embroidery on my "Winds in the Willows" felt wallhanging. I also started a curtain panel project inspired by the Korean “bojagi” or “pojagi” technique.
