I know it was mentioned in the 'Etsy problems' thread below, but thought it may be worth its' own discussion:
Is anyone applying for the new 'Handmade by Amazon' offering? I have received the initial details & it seems that they are starting with jewellery & 'home' - so not accessories. Therefore, thinking of felted goods: artworks would be included but not our staples of scarves, bags, garments etc. Also I have just realised it's Amazon.com doing this, I didn't see mention of it on Amazon.co.uk, (which I also use in Greece). Anyone know?
The sellers fees are usually $40 pm, but they are waiving that for the first year & charging 12% per item sold. So a lot more than Etsy, but a huge customer base available. I do like that listings are free & don't expire.
Any thoughts?

Jill I'm thinking to join for a free period and see how it's going. I do not think the sales afford me to pay high monthly fee. As for 12% per item sold, they claim that "fee includes payment processing, marketing, discounted shipping" I wonder what discounted shipping may be, postal expenses are very high in my case. Anyway now I'm very much in trying everything because the shop in York where my stuff was sold is closing next month. I hope to see a discussion here!
