I'm amazed you found fiber in Florida. As far as the prices, they seem a little high compared to what I usually pay. But if it's a boutique type place and fiber isn't their big draw I'd expect to pay more. Or just the fact that there's probably not too much competition in the area they can charge more. :-)

Opulent Fibers is $2.25 ounce @ 8 ounces would be $18.00 and you would still need to add shipping unless you purchased enough to get free shipping

They're probably around 4 times the price I pay, but like Marilyn says, if it's the only place a round they can get away with it. I'm probably doing a World of Wool order soon, I'll definitely go over the 2kg limit for cheap postage and the next band is upto 10kg, so if you want we can work out if it'd be cheaper to add some stuff to my order to send on to you, if you like?

$7-$8 for 100 grams(3.5 onz) is normal for fine merino around here. local wool costs much more because it costs a lot to have it processed. I pay less by ordering from World of Wool

Wow, those prices are high! :(
Here in Oz, I can buy roving in that weight for about $8!
