Hello everyone. I bought some scrim and Rit Dye and decide to play. Next time I will have to try using several shades of the same color on the same piece of scrim... I am please with these colors for now.. I did see a wee bit of color difference in the darker pink but not much.. The aquamarine and violet colors took a lot of rinsing.. I made a wee red Merino Christmas Ornament that I added white "Firestar" to.. It really sparkle.. We are getting heavy rains at the moment and All our snow has melted. Very big smile.... feltingandfiberstudio.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/vnkaqenzzrgrnc0fzkfh.jpg

The colors you achieved with Rit dye are really terrific! If you use the scrim with wool roving and wet-felt, do you expect any bleeding, or are the dyes colorfast?

Gorgeous colours and great results, Judy I've used RIT dyed cottons in felting, Cathy, and don't remember any bleeding.

Good to know! My first and only experience with Rit dye was when a child and my mother dyed my first Communion dress GREEN in the washer with Rit dye. I don’t know what she was thinking, but it was so ugly! They obviously have improved the Rit dyes since then. ;-)

Hello everyone, thanks for all the nice comments.. Much appreciated.
I was pleasantly surprised how nice the colors came out. I rinsed and rinsed until no more color came out... I plan to iron them too but I do not if that will help make a difference or not..
During the process they were dip in a salt water cold bath for a short time and then rinsed many time.
I hope to use them in felting and for embellishments..

You never exhaust fiber reactive dye and as well as that you had all the acid dye to wash out too. so RIT always takes lots of rinsing.
