I did another flat piece today with lots of added threads, organza, silk and rainbow nylon, You cant see in the pic but it has a really nice sheen to it with the nylon. There was a couple of organza threads that i had trouble felting in but i'll stitch them down when i decide what i'm doing with it.

That looks really nice, Kaz The way you do your backgrounds reminds me of watercolours spreading into each other

Very cool. Did you put wisps of wool over the fibers or just lay them on top?

Thanka Ann, I did put wisps of wool and the nylon over the top of them but i must have moved them a bit during the first part of the rubbing

Okay, Karen, I think I've about decided to blame YOU! All I want to do is make flat felt for no reason, nothing invisioned, no real plan. (Did I skip this part when I started wet felting?) Since you posted your "flat felt" that is all I have been doing, and I'm waking up every day wanting to do more and more and more! What will I do with all this felt? The thing is, I don't care! (Hmmmm, maybe pillows!)

Karen, I have discovered what I want to do with all this felt, after reading your post on the website and going once again to Robin Atkins' website. I want to go back to my roots, so to speak, and embroider and bead a whole picture - maybe two or three! How freeing it is to realize I don't have to make scarves or purses and can just enjoy the beautiful felt by embellishing it! I think I have been heading in this direction for a while, but never realized it. I have a large collection of beads and threads, some from 20 or 30 years ago. (and I keep buying more!) Maybe I can cut my butterflies from the felt and use them on the picture! Who knows! Thank you, Karen, for your inspiration!
