Hiya, I have just noticed that one of my nuno scarves (merino on silk gauze) has a hole in it It is on the end, right on the edge of where the silk finishes where there is a narrow (1 cm) band of merino before the fringe starts. There are two holes and the bigger hole is about 2.5 cm by 1cm. What do people think is the best way to mend this? Will it be okay to try and gently needle felt some more wool fibre over the area? Will the silk bit be okay or am I in danger of snagging it with the needle? I have attached a photo but not sure if it will show the hole clearly enough. Any tips gratefully received! You could carefully needle some wool over the hole. put your needle almost flat on the wool so you needle only into the wool. Then wet and felt it to match the rest. You can needle through the silk and wet felt it. I it is usually fine but sometimes it does snag.

Thanks ever so much. I followed your suggestions and it seems to have worked. I think the scarf might be sellable again!
