It does look like a snug fit but he doesn't seem to mind.

I did a 3 day workshop with Vilte last week on surface texture and making a nuno dress. Remembering this challenge, I was inspired by a photo of tree bark. I really like the swirls, raised texture and different colours made by the shadows.
As I can only post one photo from my PC I will upload the photo of the felt in a second post.

Here is the sample piece of felt I made using the tree bark as inspiration. It has silk paj and tissue silk fabrics, silk throwsters waste and mulberry silk. It is "glued" together with merino wool. I have made a full dress following this sample but haven't taken a decent photo yet.

By the skin on my teeth I've made it in time. I decided to use the rusty pot Ruth posted on the first page as inspiration. I used some small prefelt pieces I had. I put a gray piece down for the pot then I made fat resists for on top. Next a redish piece for the rust and then a cream layer for the paint. first layer by Shepherdessann, on Flickr second layer by Shepherdessann, on Flickr third layer by Shepherdessann, on Flickr I wet it all and rub it all over with a small piece of bubble wrap. I did that for about 20 min. I then rolled it in 2 directions win the bubble wrap. I wanted the rolling to be fairly gentle because even 3 layers of this very thin prefelt was still not very thick and with the thick resist pieces I didn't want it to rip. Wet and rub by Shepherdessann, on Flickr I cut the resists out gave it another quick roll then fulled it and rinsed out the soap. Then pulled the rusty bits open and let it dry on the table outside. the rust y bits were better when I put it out but one of the cats decided to sleep on it and flatten it while it was still wet. I ran out of time to rewet it and reshape it. overhead shot by Shepherdessann, on Flickr side shot by Shepherdessann, on Flickr

That's really good, Ann Cats! If it's not the book/newspaper/magazine you're reading, it's whatever you're working on.

Thanks everyone. The cats always seem to end up where you don't want them.
