Hello Everyone, has anyone created a felting project using the "Cracked Earth or Mud" Technique. Does anyone know where you can find a tutorial on how to create this technique. Thanks for your assistance. Judy

I can do bricks with a plastic resist grid wet felted between layers. You felt the lot and then cut out the resist to leave bricks.

I was just mucking about, trying new stuff. It is a wall hanging, but the top layer needed to be thicker and felted more to get the effect. Will you post your peice when it is finished I would like to see it.

Angela if you want to felt it more just wet it down again and felt it more. That's one of the nice things about felting.

Sorry, just a silly Joke It seems like recently, whoever gives a felting technique a japanese name gets to claim it or it has more credibility as a 'thing'. It's just 'cracked mud' in Japanese

ok I get it Zed. I did find it funny that the woman in the video ask Pat's permission to do a video of a technique Pat said she got somewhere else.

Yes Zed, it was funny. Heaven know who initially owns the cracked mud technique but I have seen it on many projects I have seen on the web. I really like the look and hopefully will find the time to try it soon. I will have to to think of a project so I can try out a couple new techniques at one time.
