This is my Monet interpretation for the 3rd Quarter Challenge, although I did not intend for it to be abstract. Can anyone guess the original inspiration? abstract dreams by catwycliff, on Flickr

Not sure of the inspiration but I like the color combination.

The Rocks of Belle-Ile?
Lively colours and good texture! What wool did you use?

Thanks, all! Many fibers were used: moss green and sand coopworth batts on bottom; then acid-dyed blue domestic 56’s, grey/brown yak, white polwarth and sienna alpaca. Phew! I set out to do one of the Haystacks (late summer), but abstract won out.

It is very colourful and pleasing to the eye as they say. You were inspired and that's what we wanted.

Thanks, Ann. My cat helped me towards the decision to leave Monet’s Haystacks as an abstract piece: Travis, my cat by catwycliff, on Flickr Yes, He is sitting on my foam block for needle-felting.

Your Monet has a pretty array of textures and colors Cathy. I reckon your kitty is eyeing your yarn to play with... Smile

I thought it might be Soleil levant, but I was wrong! Similar colours though.

Thanks Judy, Judith and Zed! I realize it looks nothing like the haystacks late in summer, but those details would have been added if my cat had not claimed the foam block. But the colors and texture, yes.
