This is a needle felted collage that was accepted into a local exhibit. I call it Wee Wee Lambikin: from the folkloric tale from India. The lambikin tells his preditors to wait until he comes home from grandma's house to eat him. He tells each one that he will be fatter then. Of course, it does not turn out well for Lambikin.

It is pretty small but looks nice from what I can see. Did you do this on a needle felting machine? What kind of fibers did you use?

Yes, I resized it on my computer before I loaded it. So, I guess it did not enlarge. I guess I don't need to resize them when I take them from my PC. I will try again and see what happens.

Judy, if there's a picture on your blog that you want to share, if you right click it, then select 'Properties' from the box, you can get the web address/URL. Copy that, paste it into a posting box on here, then select it and click the 4th button on the row above the smileys-it looks like a little picture, it'll put [ img ] boxes around the url and convert it into an image. It's a great picture, by the way Bigger pic: judysfiberart.blogspot.com/2011/08/lambikin.html

Oh - that's much easier to see. Wonderful mix of felt, stitching and beads. Are those pieces of lace sewn on?

Still need practice on inserting the pictures. Yes, I hand dyed some lace and used it for embellishment.

It's lovely. It would be so nice in a babies room. It makes me think of nursery rhymes.

Yes, I thought it would make a good children's piece and I might get a printout of the story and put it on the back of the shadowbox.

Did you use Procion dyes for the lace?

Yes, I used Procion dyes in a snow dyeing project. The lace was part of the project and I made a lot of it. So, I will have pieces for a long time.
