Zara, they are gorgeous. You don't seem to lack for ideas yourself. I'm jealous. I haven't even seen such beautiful locks here in the US. Did you knit the sleeves yourself then felt them together?
I think we need a new category for just locks! ;-)

Thanks Marilyn! :-) The "sleeves" are from an old pure wool sweater that I fulled in the washing machine. It had a ribbed polo-neck on it that I cut in two and sewed together to make two tubes. The locks are first needle felted and then wet felted on. Very simple really. :-)

Very creative idea, Zara, and the locks are gorgeous. I like the idea of repurposing old sweaters and other garments into new accessories. It may be a simple idea but the results are stunning!

They are lovely Zara. I love locks. Marilyn you need to find spinning and fiber groups and you find all kinds of great flees. My friend Judy orders beautiful wensleydale fleeces form the US. there are several groups on facebook that I know there are some on ravalry but I am not a member there.

Zara, I agree with Cathy, great repurposing! Ann, I will need to investigate local groups more. The Fold where I go roving shopping is actually a sheep farm. Maybe I can convince them to sell me some long locks!

Thanks for all the encouragement! :-)
Carol - I doubt I will start selling locks in any larger amounts. I only have 4 sheep (so far...). But I would be happy to send you some smaller samples. Perhaps we could do a "fiber swap" of some kind? That sounds like more fun than putting a price on unwashed locks and working out postage rates before hand. I have a mixed stash of different locks now, but may have more to offer when we shear our sheep in the autumn. (Will be shearing soon, but the the winter coat is not as nice as the summer coat). I saw there was a system for sending messages here - you can contact me that way if you are interested.
