Hello everyone, I'm very excited to be a part of this forum. I can see people are passionate about fibres and I just know I'm going to learn a lot from all of you My name's Leonor and I'm the brain (and punctured hands) behind Felt Buddies, where I showcase and sell my needle felted items. I've started this professionally about ten months as I write this and it's been one very amazing journey so far. I do love what I do and, like they say, if you do what you love you'll never work a day in your life. I'm originally from Portugal but grew up in China, and now live in London. Feel free to share your local fibre stories with me, I love to imagine myself in different parts of the world If you have any questions about business management, shop/photography critique, or other small business-related geeky subject, I might be able to help, considering I read a lot about those things in the hopes of improving myself. I'm on Etsy (www.feltbuddies.net), have a blog (www.feltbuddies.co.uk) on Facebook (www.facebook.com/FeltBuddies) and also on Pinterest and Instagram. Meet me there and join the madness if you'd like! Wishing you all the best in your endeavours and creative arts, Leonor

Welcome Leonor! Glad you joined us. I look forward to seeing more of your work - we love photos here. Sounds like you're doing well with your business. If you have some ideas for a guest post on the blog/website, do let us know. We do guest author posts frequently. Also, we'd love to get more needle felters to join our forum so if you know of others, please do invite them to join in the fun.

Leonor, I just checked out your etsy store and blog. Great work. The animals are so real and the other characters are fun and so colorful! I can't wait for you to share some of this with us.
By the way, I'm a January baby as well. I can relate. :-). This year was the coldest birthday in my life. Not fun.

Welcome, you sound very busy with all those places to maintain. Your whippets are great. your other creatures are quirky and fun. My daughter would love your avatar.

Aw, thank you all for your welcome and kind words, what a nice way to start my day Ruth, I'd love to do a guest spot, I love to connect with other fibre-obsessed people! It's how I came to be here, after all. If you have any specific themes you'd like me to think about specifically, I'll be glad to prepare something. I'll also think of other needle felters I might know and let them know of this forum. Marilyn, being born in January (right after New Years) can be a challenge sometimes I hope you weren't too cold this Winter, it was quite mild here in London compared to last year... Lyn, thanks for the compliment on my photos. I do try to be a bit geeky and read about these things, and I do occasional book reviews on these technical books on my blog, so pop by if you're interested www.feltbuddies.co.ukLuvswool, glad to meet a fellow needle felter! I've notices there aren't many of us here, haha! Ann, you've just hit the spot, it is a lot of hard work keeping up with all the networking and internet stuff, but it's worth it in the long run - look at me, I've just met new wonderful people right here Let your daughter know she is a person of refined taste, teehee One last thing: would you prefer that I call you by legal or avatar name? Let me know. x

Leonor - We would love to have some basic needle felting tutorials if you have some already. Or you could tell us how you developed your business, we have specific questions for that. Or if you have some ideas about a post just let me know. Just e-mail me directly at laneruthe @ gmail.com (no spaces).
Most people who have a signature liked to be called by that name and those who don't get called by their avatar name.

Leonor, it was the coldest birthday of my life. We've had the polar vortex here in the Midwest US. I'm fine with using my name. I look forward to your tutorials and new projects.

Alright, so if I call someone the wrong name just let me know, I want to follow proper etiquette Zed, I just found out one could 'like' a comment on a forum, so yours got a thumbs up for being so nice Ruth, I don't have a tutorial just yet (am planning to get one in the future) but anyone please feel free to ask any questions. I am also happy to talk about my professional progression, too! Let me think and I'll get back to you Marilyn, that sounds really cold, brrr!

Leonor - Great - on the tutorial end, it could be really basic needle felting techniques as of right now, we don't have any.

Leonor I just left the polar region and am basking in the 60s in sunny South Carolina. Chicago is going back into the polar vortex this week. Sometimes we just get lucky with timing. :-) But who knows what I'll return to. Good luck with the tutorial.
