I tried doing a bowl within a bowl using a single resist with 8 layers. I then cut a big circle out of the top 4 layers and a smaller circle out of the bottom 4 layers. It was difficult to felt as cutting it like that made the whole thing want to separate into 2. It would have been much easier just to do 2 bowls and put one inside the other ... Your last sentence made me laugh !!!

Can't we have a sticked thread for books? I am going to write an artikel about a book : Connected Cloth van Cas Holmes en Anne Kelly. I 'll read it next week, but maybe some of you have already read of can tell me something about it? Ofcourse I 'll search on the internet, but I like to know 'our' experience too and maybe I can use that also.

I want you both to leave them a whole year and get some really long locks. If we left them unsheared for a year I think the locks would be so felted and full of hay etc. that they would be quite useless for anything. ;-) Shearing twice a year is recommended in Sweden for sheep health reasons. It probably also has to do with our climate and the sheep spending a lot of the winter in barns with straw and hay. But believe me, the fleece I bought from tvatrastickan still had a very nice length. These are long haired sheep, even if you shear them 2 or 3 times per year. :-) I suggest that sheep, lama's and alpaca's are required to be vacuumed before shearing. Isn't that possible?

So what I did is super simple for most of you, but it's my first time using a resist. I used an instructional post from this site, had a little difficulty making my pot look good, refelted/fulled it, and now feel it looks a little better. Still bumpy and uneven but at least it's a little more solid-feeling. I used merino wool with some silk noil and angelina fibers as embellishment. That so nice with felt, you can refelt it (till certain point) or go on working next time. I should fill it with choclat Easter eggs. Mmmmm.

Hi Leonor, can't you place a pic of your horse? The felted one I read somewhere on the forum about ' Die wollfabrik'. . And I made an order day before yesterday and it just arrived! So quick, in two days from Germany to Holland. The felt is really cheap . Sending is 9,50 but it is still worth it. (Sending whithin Holland is 6,50 or 6.95). I ordered also Ramie , but I don't know the properties , it looks very nice and shiny.
