I read the post of Ruth , she showed the influence with prefelt. She made a seed pod and uses a two dimensional resist. because of reading that post i wanted to try it out myself and used a three dimensional resist and see what happens. i uses two circles for the 'flower', put them together with ducktape for the prefelt and the same for the base with merino wool. and this is what happend: photos.app.goo.gl/9F1tv3eEMJyQ5Ja98i was a bit suprised, because it gave almost the same result as the seed pod , while this was a 'leborious' resist. the second object was the caterpillar, wich a member described http://www.parallelfunk.de i liked that also and made this one : www.flickr.com/photos/145881031@N04/albums/72157708881696988and the last one was a shell a made serveral years ago and i used a movie on YT to make that shell ( youtu.be/7oyMvs7vNXo) and you can find mine at goo.gl/photos/cvYNjd9wqfq6gss67but than i didn't know anything about influence of prefelt.

That turned out beautifully! Love the swirling effect of the cut outs. Because of this challenge and Lyn's examples, homework, i came to this result and i like it too . (However it turned out different than i had in mind )

I really like how the waves turned out. Really effective with the colours. Did you have a hard time finding the resist to cut it? Funny I just posted that video in another thread for someone. It had been posted in the wet felters group on Facebook. Yes, that's right. I was totally in love with the pod of Peter McMaster! So I wanted to combinate it with this challenge. somewhere i read several reasons why silk wouldn't attache to the wool, but can't find it anymore. Next time i will wash the silk before use, that could be one reason. i can't imagine that i bought superwash merino, that could be an other reason , i remember..

I like that Jifke, lovely colours. What wool did you use and how many layers do you do each side? I used merino and i did two or three layers, don't know anymore, but i followed the video of 'handfelted vessel with cutaway resist' . m.youtube.com/watch?v=Jx8myGYkEXU
