It has finally been hot here in the UK so I have been sitting outside and doing some wet felting today. I made some wet felted backgrounds and then they dried so quick I was able to needle felt this one this evening. What do you think? I put some marbles into the sky to look like a full rain cloud and needle felted the flowers onto it... and the Queen Anne's Lace I have had the idea in my sketchbook for awhile and the nepps (kneps) just arrived yesterday so I was able to try those out too. Reminds me of this other piece I did awhile ago with all the flowers

Thank you for your lovely comments. I fully felted the piece this time before adding the marbles, which turned out a lot better. Flowers are one of my favorite things to needle felt on flat pieces. I think it's because I love to photograph them too. I wet felted a couple more pieces yesterday so I'll needle felt those and show you how they came out too. I am thinking of adding some more to this piece... Not sure but maybe just a frame... Sometimes it's hard to stop.

I would love to see a close up of your Queen Anne's Lace. I have seen photos of a giant dandelion with blowing seeds by the remarkable felt artist, Stacy Polson. It inspired me to try felting a galaxy which pleased me.

Really lovely work! I've been working outside in this incredible weather, but it's just too breezy to lay out fibre, so have been working on some embellishing. Not sure how good it is, but the sun tan is great!

Yes I was lucky there wasn't any wind on Saturday... and my plan was to use up these Merino fibres that I have in a bag... unfortunately when I was teaching a week ago at someone's house, their dog climbed into the bag and made himself comfortable... and did his business... so all the wool stinks... I can't use it for teaching and I'm worried about washing it because it will probably felt... so I thought I would make some wet felted pieces... and they don't stink... I'll get some close ups of the queen anns lace too... Thanks Han I need to finish my avatar and put it in it's frame my avatar is needle felted onto a felted sweater piece

Re. Quenn Ann's Lace. It's a very much prettier name than we have. We call it Cow Parsley. Same plant, but a different name conjures up a different picture!!

Here is the second piece I started at the weekend... still a work in progress... but looking good enough to show off Again I was playing with the marbles... and decided they would look good yellow so I needle felted that on... I call it Hare in the Rising Sun I still need to put some things in the bottom right corner... not sure yet... was thinking of poppies but I think they will be too red...

It is very good. I love the Queen Ann's lace. are you using nepps or are you making little balls of wool yourself?
