I've been looking at web sites in other countries that sell felting supplies and wool. Is there custom fees or special things I need to know? I've got a wierd address. There are several small towns with identical street addresses and we all use the same zip code...would that be a problem? People in the US call or email me all the time to tell me I've entered the wrong town on my order. Do they really think I don't know what town I live in?

That is too funny. I know some of the addresses I have for relatives in England are pretty funny. Sorry I can't help you with an answer. I order from the World of wool and have it shipped to Canada. I know there are strict rule on raw( unwashed) fleece.

Once the package is in the US, it's usually upto USPS to get it to you. I know World of Wool have started using a courier service here, I don't know which one though and I don't know if they are for overseas. Just put as much info as possible when you fill in the address form.

What about customs? Aren't there fees? Wonder if they hold your package at the Post Office and you have to pay to get your package. I was just looking at shipping fees too. A package a little over 2 pounds (1 kilogram) will cost $23. USD

I order 22lbs at a time form the wholesale side of world of wool. its $80 ( I think. It just went up) to ship it. about 1/3 of the time it gets stopped and they look at it. Once I have had to go get it. That's when I got my import licence. It didn't cost me anything. With smaller amounts they have never been stopped. I can always tell when they look in it. They can't close the box again and it comes covered in yellow customs tape to keep it all together. Here in Canada I have to pay the federal tax but not the provincial tax. The delivery company collects it. If customs looked at it the is a $5 charge for that. when i buy anything from Europe or USA I always ask for it to go through the postal service. it doesn't take much longer and you save the huge brokerage fees UPS and Fed Ex charge.

If you want undyed fibers in quantity in the USA there is RH Lindsay click here I believe they will ship free in the USA. the prices aren't as good as World of Wool but maybe the sipping would make up for it.

Ann, I was looking at different or unusual fibers that aren't for sale on the site I've been buying from. So far I have merino roving & batts & prefelt and Lincoln roving. A friend bombarded me with things of yarn and I bought some things of yarn. I forget that those things of yarn are called. I probably should take it easy buying wool until I get better. You are really tempting me with those "bumps" of wool. I'm trying to be good. lol
