I wanted to post photos of them for a long time, I finally got time to do it. And yes the baby (cria) are the cutest. Both of my crias have been bottle fed. My female ( mom) does not have milk unfortunately.

I love the expression on Campina's face - so sweet. Lyn if you take a another look at the picture you will see a great dane somewhere in there. I just noticed him myself. His nane is Elvis.

Do alpaca need it cool? I was visiting a farm that had alpaca and they had large fans and misters for the alpaca.

Yes they need cool. They originate from Peru where the climate is cool. The hot wheather will affect the alpacas. The do need fans if they get to hot. They stay outside all winter long here and it get around minus 25C wich is about -13F sometime in the winter. They are shearded in early june.
