Not sure where to post this question. I took a class where I made a scarf and used a piece of wool yarn for a decorative element. I went to the fabric store and bought some 100% wool yarn. I also fell in love with a beautiful nubby yarn but it's 53% wool and 47% acrylic. The brand name is Lion Brand. Can I use this yarn in wet felting? I have another class coming up next Monday but I'd like to make something with it before I go to class for one of my practice pieces. I don't want to waste time and material if I can't use it. Thanks. Billie

You can use any kind of novelty yarn in felting as long as you use enough wool to hold it down. So if you have your wool layered and then want to use the yarn to embellish the top surface, place the yarn on top of the wool and then use wisps of wool to anchor the yarn down. If you already have wool in the yarn, it should attach fairly easily and you won't need as much wool on top to anchor it down. Hope that makes sense.
