Reader is a program that you can follow all your blogs in. You will still be able to go to the blogs and read them or get e-mails of blogs. But the reader program will be gone. If you don't know what Google Reader is, you didn't use it and it won't affect you.
Ann - I tried Wordpress and really don't like it. There are several articles out there about other readers. I am putting off this decision until June since reader will be available until mid June. But I'd love to hear if anyone uses a different reader and likes it.

Karen if you use it you can download all the info so you can migrate it to a new reader. I was thinking of wordpress reader Ruth, only because I saw the add for it. What didn't you like.

There is no list showing you the new posts for that day and how many are unread. It just has part of the post in a long scroll down and you have to click on each post, go to each blog to read the full article. You can't just read the article in the reader. There is no way to figure out if you have read the post or not, you just have to keep scrolling back until you recognize one you've read before. It doesn't seem to have as many posts brought up as Google Reader does. For example, I may have 38 unread posts in Google Reader and can only find about 10-12 in Wordpress reader.

I have a blog roll for my favorite blogs on my home page. It also shows a little thumbnail. I do have Google Reader, but there is too many things on it that I lost interest in, so I rarely use it. I also list favorite websites on my home page.

Just noticed that my Google Reader has disappeared. Google plus has probably been a more successful project for Blogger. Although, I don't use it that much either.
