OOOOOO gone wrong again and i'm not sure why, i followed directions this time from colourishes on you tube where you use a textile medium and let it dry, but it didnt hold together, then after that i lightly sprayed with the medium again and ironed between baking paper lol it stuck to the paper and its holding together a little more but its not like the last time when it actually felt like paper, what did i do wrong ? I have not tried silk paper... yet... been on my must give that a go list, lets hope some of the forum that have had success give us some good pointers. Even the gone wrong bits are still good learning, though somewhat frustrating at the time I am sure, keep trying.

Hello Karen, this may not be the correct method but it works for me. I lay down a piece of tutu net in a plastic tray, spread out the silks and whatever else I want to include, cover it with a piece of tutu net, wet it through with soapy water, then when it's drained, I 'paint' wallpaper paste onto both sides (making sure that the paste penetrates completely). Then I peg it up to dry.

Not sure what you did. I have used stuff that looks like glue to make paper and I have used spray starch to make it. the starch method doesn't make something that really sticks together. do you have the link? I couldn't find the video

Hey Karen, I do what Lyn does except I paint with a mixture of water and textile medium. It makes a nice thick paper depending on how many layers of silk you use. It really sticks to the netting so I usually peel one side off when it's wet (carefully) and then you only have to peel off the other side once dry. It peels off better if completely dry. As in, it takes several days to dry.

I think you perhaps didn't get it soaked all the way through with the textile medium. But of course the tongue holding thing is very important too.
