This year will be a journey for me into more Mixed Media. I have finished enough work to last 2 years of exhibits. So I am now concentrating on learning new things to do with new mediums. I would like to recommend a great resource to anyone who is on this road too. It is "Creative Embellishment" by Sherrill Kahn. I have had this book for a while, but now I am serious about it. I will try to keep you informed, in case you are interested.

I haven't seen this book but I've seen her work. I'd love to see what you're doing.

Can't wait to see what you come up with. Don't forget we like to see the failures as well as the successes.

Back from the dead (so to speak) I had that horrible flu. Before I got so dizzy I could not stand up, I was working on fun foam. You can heat it and push a stamp into it to make an impression, then paint it with metalic paints. You can cut it into different shapes and make charms, buttons, pins, beads or embellishments. My first experiment with the heat and impression did not really work well. Not sure why, but it just did not really make enough of an impression. However I found that the painting process went very well. I will try to take a photo for you to see, but I have never been able to load a picture on here.

Judy, do you have a Flickr account? It is easy to load a photo from there. The instructions are in the frequently asked questions section. Flickr is easy to join and free.

I did manage to get a photo on the forum from my own computer. I just resized it and did it as an attachment. I have used other photo editing programs, but have not chosen a photo storage and share site. I guess I should take a look at Flicker.

I made a note to myself to check it out after Christmas. I do have a lot of photos. You can't imagine how many and use an external backup flash for storage. I assume that Flicker can be used the same way.

I keep telling my dad to get flickr, he takes photos for lots of events around his area and it'd be so much easier if he uploaded photos instead of burning lots of disks.
You can have your most recent 200 photos available for view, Judy if you don't get Pro, but that is only $24 a year, I think, and at the moment, they are giving 3 months Pro free

So far I keep all my photos in my pictures program on my PC. I have them filed into folders and organized. I also have some stored in my blog. I don't use CD's unless I have to send one off as an entry for an exhibit. I just wouldn't want to lose all my photos in a crash. That would be a very big job to recover everything.

Having a copy on like would be a good way to have a back up.

Ha, I went to Flicker and found out that I had already created an account a long time ago. I had not uploaded any pictures and just forgot about it. So, it is ready to use. Can't believe I forgot about that. I think it was when I first created my Yahoo email account. I had to separate my email from my husbands because it got overwhelming.
