Sorry to hear about your plumbing disaster Karen, but three cheers for the new floors!
It has been quiet here hasn't it? What is everyone up to? I haven't achieved anything.
Last Sunday I was washing up the dinner things and I thought I might be having a heart attack. I had a terrible pain in my midriff, I went all clammy and I felt sick.
It didn't take long before I realised that I had a vicious gastric bug - the next few hours were not pleasant!
I slept most of Monday and Monday night and I've been getting better steadily.
How can a teensy weensy germ fell a giant of a woman like myself as easy as that?
I'm still a bit wobbly and feel as if I have a touch of motion sickness.

Oh Karen the word "Water" is going to become like a swear word in your home if this keeps up. Sounds as though you delt with it like a treu little aussi battler, well done.' Oh Lyn, got my OH under my feet today with the very same thing, I think as the years go on these bugs become nastier and get superpowers. Hope your feeling better, get some electrolytes into you to replace all you have lost and have some Yogurt with all the good bugs to get it all going smoothly again, Ha I have Crohn's disease so any guts ache questions I'm the person.....never say die being my motto. Let me tell you about our weather, its vile, my poor goats I wonder if I will ever finish clipping them down, we had hail before, now the sun's out but its a bitterly cold wind so they can stay in their pens with lots of nice hay and browse, I am done outside for the day, I'm working on some doggie cards, not felting and can't wait for them to be finish so I can get on with some felting. Oh Tess - sorry to hear that you have to deal with Crohn's.
Since last night when I wrote on this thread: My grand-daughter woke up at 2am and was sick (luckily in the bathroom). We were awake until 4 (bit more sick) then OH went on to the sofa and me and Emily settled into 'the big bed'. 6am "nanny!" sick again but in the duvet this time. After that, she couldn't even keep water down, so I persuaded her to eat 2 dry water biscuits and that seemed to settle the bile. She's sound asleep now and I'm off to work in a couple of hours with matchsticks in my eyelids.
Felting?....oh yes, I vaguely remember what that is!!

Aaw, I was feeling sorry for myself today after another evil headache yesterday has wiped me out and made me good for nothing today, but at least I don't have other stuff to deal with if I don't want, like the rest of you do. I have half the contents of my loft piled around the house waiting to be sorted, but I'll just choose not to see it today I hope everyone feels better/has better luck/weather soon

Lyn sorry to hereabout your tummy troubles. That was going around here a few weeks ago but I don't suppose it's the same one but you never know with the way these thing fly around the world. Crones can't be easy to live with I a friend with IBS and that can cause her a lot of grief.

We had to travel for a funeral. This is a terrible story. My husband's cousin was only 45 years old. She had purchased some run down rental property that had been closed up for a very hot summer. In the southern parts of America, this means a lot of humidity. After cleaning up this messy, dirty, moldy house; she started coughing and could not breath. This went on for a few weeks. They kept giving wrong diagnosis, but it finally killed her. Turns out that she had inhaled black mold. I think that this should be a warning to all of us, that mold can be deadly. Don't know if they have this kind of mold in other countries.

Karen, never take mold lightly. It could be harmless, but I would always use a mask, as it could be the deadly kind. There are professionals who are trained to remove this kind of mold. This was shocking to our family. I will never take mold for granted again.

We have it here too. mold can be a really bid problem and there is lots of info around on getting rid of it safely. When they find a grow op the house usualy has to be torn down because of the mold.
