Entry by Ann B. "Some of the crocheted snowflakes I made while on duty in our Museum shop a couple of years ago. I think that each one is different (as real snowflakes are). They were all washed, dipped in dilute PVA glue and blocked on a piece of fabric covered softboard. The only problem with this is that the pins have to be thrown away afterwards because PVA is death to metal and corrodes even stainless steel sometimes."

Wow! What a great start to the challenge!
Molly - Your tree is wonderful and I like the way you've done the roots. The snowflake is a delight of Christmas colours and so detailed.
Ann - Your snowflakes are fab and I especially like the delicacy of the one on the bottom right - very clever.
Ruth - This silver birch picture is one of my favourites - I feel as if I could walk in there and touch those autumnal leaves.

Thanks Lyn. I had a hardback book out of the library which was full of only crocheted snowflakes. I started on those, but in the end I was making them up as I went along - another reason why they were all different. Fun to do and I was able to finish them quite quickly - no UFOs there!

I really love the simplicity of your wreath Lyn. Simplicity in design is not easy to create.

Oh Wow! Just visited the galleryKaren L - your Christmas mice are amazing and they made me smile as they are so cheerful. Ann B - your needle felted robin is so cute. Capi P - your fiddly mit is not only pretty but what a great idea for anyone who could benefit from having one. Kate N - Your tea light candle holders must look good when lit but they look good unlit too!

I must be the very last one submitting a photo for the 2023 last quarter challenge! My entries are an angel and a bauble, Christmas tree decorations made by needlefelting merino wool, with handstitching for the Christmas bauble, that also had some plastic beads sewn on it. The angel's hair are wool locks, from World of Wool, so no idea what type. www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/1ue6t4ybm5warkh5u2g18/IMG_20231224_185452_623.jpg?rlkey=0f6qd7v66p0bjngniznhnjqvc&dl=0Sorry, I just did not realise that I could enter the challenge, that's why I am so late! I have actually made around 15 Christmas baubles this year, but gifted most of them and only kept this red one.

Your tree decorations are lovely Caterina! You've been very busy making baubles - how long did each one take you to make?

Thank you,Ruth! I meant that I did not realise that I had already made something that suited the theme for the last challenge! Thank you, Lyn. I prepared a few core wool balls in advance, each one takes me around ten-fifteen minutes to make, as it is only shaped and lightly felted. Then I covered the balls with merino wool (sometimes handcarded with angelina for the sparkle) : it takes me anywhere from twenty minutes to one hour to complete a bauble from covering it with merino to adding embellishments, depending on which decorations I am going for: if I add needlefelted swirls all over the surface or a lot of handstitching it may take quite a bit. Adding the ribbon for hanging takes nothing at all. The angel I made last year, it took me maybe one hour and a half, it was very lightly felted. All in all, I love making those decorations as a way to keep creating lighthearted stuff in a hectic period of the year, when I would not be able to make other longer projects. I made some baubles while in doctors' waiting rooms, and the time passed very quickly.
