I have just spotted this programme "The Art of Felting" which is just a short six minutes about Moy and her felt painting. I haven't watched it yet, I'm saving it for later, but I though others might be interested.

Thank you for posting this Ann. What a joyous six minutes! Moy's sketchbook is fab isn't it? Her studio is so colourful with a whole wall of merino and I like that she defends buying ready-dyed wool. Her mosaic bench is a sight to behold - I wonder who made that? I also applaud her view on fibre art/fine art. The picture we see Moy make is beautiful.

I just wish I could draw as well as she can - I can only do it in wool, not pastels or any other "mark making equipment". Very colourful workshop. I had thought of doing that myself, but wool is such a dust magnet I didn't dare - but then I suppose she gets in her workshop a lot more frequently than I do. I agree with buying ready dyed wool and blending my own colours and also her stand on fibre art/fine art, but I won't get up on that soap box as it tends to put up my blood pressure!

I just tried to watch it and it says it can only be viewed in the UK. Oh well.
Lyn, I saw a FB post a while ago where Moy was creating a mosaic (something outdoors) so perhaps she made the mosaic bench herself?

Of course, now it occurs to me that we're not supposed to watch BBC stuff - even on catch up - without a Licence, and you probably couldn't get one even if you wanted one. Sorry, I should have thought about that.

It's such a shame you couldn't view the video Yes I suppose it is possible she made it as I did see a bird mosaic she was working on.

That worked Lyn. thanks. It's an excellent little spot. I agree with the art comments. I think "art" has no practical use and craft is always useful. But there is a very blurry line between them. Art has really come to mean painting and nothing else. I took a class with her. she works quite fast.

Well done Lyn. I had a look at the YouTube one too and I see that it was put up there by BBC Scotland. How odd. You're not allowed to watch abroad on BBC Iplayer but they let anyone watch it on YouTube. It doesn't make sense, but I'm glad that the others got to see Moy working.

About the mosaic bench, Lyn, she created it herself and detailed her work on her Instagram account: I followed her project, because I thought that it was such a brilliant idea.
