A way to possibly get unstuck

I was stuck designing a while back so I decided to see if there was a stimulus that could help me move on. So I chose to take a few of my yarns and match them up with matching colored papers. I then tear them in pieces, copy in crochet those torn papers. Felt them and then lay them into a design, stitch them together to create a wall piece. I am pleased with the way it is turning out. It is out to be framed.

I also use ribbons to formulate color combinations that I might like to use.

Thank you it is fun to come up with different ways to stimulate creativity.

Great way to get yourself moving again. I usually go into the studio and get started working on something. It doesn't have to be a fully designed piece, maybe just paint some paper or figure out thread colors for a piece. Once I get started, the creativity starts flowing.

I believe for me, I took a form(torn paper) crocheted a likeness but larger, then felted it. Attempting to visualize this size and shape after felting. Putting these pieces together to make a design. So it became a challenge on many levels. This was a wonderful experience and definitely a challenge. I would use this again to inspire me maybe make it bigger.
