I have been trying to dispose of my late sister's weaving equipment for my brother in law - she died a year ago yesterday - but without much success, which I suspect is mainly because of the Pandemic.
I am wondering if it is acceptable if I post details here in case any readers in the UK might be interested in any of it. My brother in law has said that, if it doesn't actually sell he's quite willing to let it go to an organisation, say a textile oriented school or perhaps collective at a negotiated rate. Some of the items he made himself for my sister (he is a Doctor of Mechanical Engineering, but will work in wood if pushed!). What do you think?

Of course. I just don't know how many people will see it. There must be weaving equipment for sale UK on Facebook or Ravelry. Is there a weaving guild or organization new them? we have people join our guilds Facebook group to sell equipment.

Thank you Ann. I don't belong to facebook or any of the Social Media so can't go that route. The equipment has been on our Loom Exchange on line, but no movement so far. We do have a National Association of Guilds of Weavers Spinners & Dyers who have a quarterly Journal, but the lead in to that is so long (September for January) that I haven't tried them yet, but will do. I hate Ebay, but may have to go down that route. As soon as this weekend is over I will put details here, just in case. Our local Amdram society is putting on a Cabaret (Adult version!) on Friday and Saturday, with dress rehearsals tonight and tomorrow night, so things are a bit fraught at the moment. Ann

Just thought I'd update you - I have managed to dispose of all my sister's equipment, both weaving and kumihimo, except for her acrylic marudai. I may well just keep that and use it as a display item or some such. Jean's husband kept her spinning wheel, not to use but as a memento. and he is now using her workshop space on their very large mezzanine landing as a music room, having kept her design source pictures and woven wall hangings on display to keep him company. One of the main things that she wove on her very large floor loom was silk fabric for a jacket, the fabric included a stripe in overshot based on a name draft. As she had also spun the fibres she wove and kept lots of pictures along the way, I am hoping to write a post for the Studio about this (in due course!).
