Hello friends!
I recently moved to Bethesda Maryland, into the area referred to as the DMV = where D.C, Maryland, Virginia converge. It's a fabulous region for sheep farms, artists/artisans and crafters alike.
The area boasts the Potomac Fiber Arts Guild, an association of over 300 fiber artists in it's 75th year! There are numerous art centers, for viewing and making... and of course, Washington D.C. is filled with all the museums and collections to keep one busy for years.
The Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival is held annually (I just missed it this year) and there are oodles of local farm and fiber art events. (Tomorrow, I'm going to Black Sheep Farm in Virginia to spend snuggle time with some Merino lambs!!)
If there are other folks in the area, please send me a note! Or if you know of opportunities around. I'm eager to meet people offline and even start teaching classes again.

Hi Shana
Sounds like a great place to live. I’m nowhere near but very intrigued by the item on the table n your photo that looks like a series of joined pods - a giant’s bracelet? Would love to see and hear more about it.

Your studio looks so alive! Good luck in your new home. Thanks Lyn! It's the most space I've ever had to use as studio and I look forward to making some big ol messes.

Would love to see and hear more about it. That's a sculpture I started back in March and had to put aside. When it's done, it'll be as tall as I am The piece is actually one solid piece made to look like it's been popped together. All needle-felted so far, though I'll probably wet-felt it too.

That's a lot of work Shana - but very satisfying I should think.
