Hi,I’m canadian from Quebec and I’m new to this forum and I am sooooo glad I found a forum talking about only felt. I am felting alone in the dark basement for 4years now, I have taken 2 online workshop from Fiona and 2 other classes from canadian ladies. I have been reading you for 2 days now and I have a question about laminating, I think that I have read it somewhere but I don’t know what it is. Is it silk thussah that we felt together?

Hi Sahal, where are you in Quebec? I m just south of Ottawa. I think what you are reading about is nun felt. When nuno first started they wher calling it laminated felt but that sounded like you glued them together so it didn't last long.

Yes - lamination is the process of sticking two or more layers together and is used in many trades. In felting it usually refers to fabric + wool.
It can be used for decorative purposes, such as a delicate scarf, or it can be used for strength by inserting a piece of open weave fabric between layers of wool.

Hi, welcome to the forum You'll find a lot of techniques have a couple of different names. For some reason (probably because of the use of 'nuno') people like to try and find Japanese terms for felting techniques which probably have other names already.
