I bought this lovely soft cobwebby scarf from a charity shop a while ago and picked it up again this morning with something in mind.

I did two samples onto prefelt to see how well it attached. Sample one I covered the scarf with a few wisps of wool, sample two was the scarf only on the prefelt. The second sample showed the pattern clearer, and it attached fully.

I like the turquoise colour underneath, and I'm thinking of making a pod maybe.
I wasn't sure whether to post this in Nuno, I guess it's a mix.

I think it would be a great texture for a pod.

I like it too. I did a hat with some fiber like that and it looked great.

Whatever the scarf is made from, it gives a slight soft hairyness on the surface when felted, nice. I will have a go soon. I was trying to decide what colour body to use, a teal/turquoise or go white/cream as a total change for me. Then I thought how I have enough scarf so just make two! By the way, the first dilemma was whether to chop it up or wear it ! The crafting part of my brain won, obviously a FAR bigger area than the fashion section !

I like seeing the look on the face of the charity shop cashier when I'm told that the blouse I'm buying will look lovely on me and I reply that I'm going to cut it up into little bits for craft work.

I know that look on the face of the person at the till! Priceless!! I've seen a few sideways glances as I hold up flouncy skirts or summery dresses, or large floral or glittery scarves, not looking remotely like I'd ever wear such things. I wonder what people think if they catch us blowing through the fabric!! The sample looks good, but the vessel looks great, Tracey
