I started another large piece partly to stop myself from fiddling and tweaking the commission piece whilst waiting for it to be mounted, and I've finished it. It was lovely to be able to play with a wider and more vibrant colour palette for this one. And I just love sitting out in the warm sunshine we've been having with my needle and threads, embroidering and beading. I feel quite bereft when I no longer have something to work on, so back to the wet felting table tomorrow I think. www.flickr.com/photos/24232165@N03/albums/72157681820827174This is to be stretched over stretcher bars as well and it's final size will be 36" x 42".

I particularly like how you have created the foxglove Marian, great job all round, a lovely piece of colour to look at during the winter months (assuming you are keeping it).

Fabulous, Marion. What a beautiful choice of colours and materials to achieve effects. Embroiery does give it a special finish even though without it the piece is marvelous.

Beautiful! Do show us again when it's mounted. Are you going to mount this one yourself or have it professionally done?

Beautiful! Do show us again when it's mounted. Are you going to mount this one yourself or have it professionally done? I'm hoping to watch the professionals mount the commission piece on Wednesday and to learn a few tricks of the trade from them. I think the bigger pieces need two people so I'm more focused on learning how to make the felt in a way that's easy for it to be mounted. I'm worried about the stretching with some of the more delicate embroidery threads.

I'm showing this to the group at our Well being centre, Marian. They're interested in doing 'more' now, and they have other skills they want to add like with machine stitching, hand stitching etc. I was telling them about your pieces and said I'd show them, and I can show them the techniques etc for the elements to put one together, like prefelt, wool twists, yarn, locks, nepps, different fibres for effects, but then they're on their own in creating!

Fabulous Marian. So well executed. Love the foxgloves in particular and I think ther's Campanula there, with the beads.
