Interesting but confusing. for instance lots of strait haired people have fine hair. Angora goats make mohair that is curly not strait. And breeds like the CVM have wool that looks like that. They say merino is very curly but it is not it has many many fine crimps but something like wendsydale has actual curls. It is an interesting topic but left me with more questions.

I think they tried, but just don't have the right vocabulary!! The 'curly' bit made me smirk Some Angora goats do have more straight/wavy hair/ and some get straighter as they get older. The hair thing confused me too, because I read something years ago about the shape of the hair shaft of different races, or related groups, people with really straight hair, typical of East Asia have very round shapes, I think it was oval for most other hair inbetween and traingular for 'uncomeable hair syndrome' and something about grooves or ridges on hair too.
