I love the legwarmers Diana Nagorna makes. So I decided to make a pair of my own in her style to become more experienced in working with alpaca. Before I started I prepared as embellishment 6 pairs of spikes with a resistence in between to cut open after felting.
For the inside I used a mix of kapmerino with 50 % silk which gives me a soft feeling even when I am wearing a pantyhose. I tried to create texture by blending in black synthetic lace and black netting, but they disappeared completely in the top layer of grey alpaca. Finished by dipping the upper and lower part of the legwarmers in black dye. Pictures on the following link: myalbum.com/album/sZctuhJkbrpb

They look cool. I think the sticking out bits would end up driving me crazy.

I'm sure you'll get a lot of conversation and questions when you wear them. Warm indeed.

Fabulous, and just what I need as I'm off to Switzerland in a few days. No time to make them though.

Do they button around the leg or just pull on over your foot. I really like them.
