Often when you read a book, there's a photo of the author in the back with a brief bio. The author is 120 years old and you look at the photo and wonder which fountain of youth she is drinking from.
My portrait was snapped about 12 years ago ... one day I will bravely replace it with an up to date one!

I think I will stick with the sunflower picture, they are far prettier to look at than me....

I opted for something other than me too. I do not have very many decent pictures of me. My friend Jan keeps taking pictures of me making funny faces. I have to admit it has become a challenge to make strange faces at her now. LOL

I think it's nice to have a real photo, even if dated. Having said that, then why am I still using my wet-felted self-portrait?

I'm not too fond of seeing my avatar staring at me. However, I like looking at people's faces when I'm reading their posts.

Two eyes to see the beauty of the world. Two ears to hear the music of water, wind, family, friends, . A nose to smell when the cat box needs changing A mouth to enjoy good food. In 5-10 years I'll be envious of how much younger I looked then (now).

OK. I'll stop hiding behind the "big bang" felted image and show my face. Very daring as this is only about 18 months old.

Judith, I posted on another thread, but you should NOT hide!!
Lyn, you either. That's a nice photo. The blue suits your silver hair.
