I fancy having a go at the felted soaps after seeing the tutorial on here. A simple question sprang to mind, with use as the soap diminishes, does the wool shrink further too??!

The wool will shrink to a certain extent. When the soap has been completely used you will get an empty bag.

Oh ok thanks Nada. I don't have plans for a craft fair anytime soon but I bet it's the kind of thing that sells.

The remains can be used like a scrubby.
Children and people with arthritis find the felted soap easier to use than a slippery unclothed one.

I tell people they make good cat toys when they are done. they felt down quite small. Your soap last longer though.

Yeah, they sell well, Tracey. We made some for our group fair and also cut some in half for 'travel' soaps, they got loads of interest, and I think we sold 4 big and 2 small.

Excellent thanks Zed. Yes a nice whicker basket to display them in too, very eye catching.

You could also add some ribbon or pretty yarn and sit them in shredded tissue paper. A little card in your basket with an explanation of what they are may also help sales. display of soaps

Some really good ideas: I would never think of cutting soap in half to ge a travel soap. Thank you Zed. Lyn, your basket is really eye catching. Thanks for sharing.

I forgot that when I use natural/handmade soaps I use natural colours and fibres, and add a small band of brown parcel paper or jute string.
A variety of colours is always a good idea.
