Here's a sneak peak of my post over on the studio blog for Friday. I spent all day Monday dyeing a thread color wheel. My friend gave me 60 skeins of #5 perle cotton. What an amazing gift! There will be further explanation on Friday but I thought you might like to see them.

It's beautiful Ruth!
Do you have any plans for using any of it?

Thanks everyone!
Lyn - I'm sure I will use it for something in my upcoming stitch classes. Right now I hate to use any because then I wouldn't have my full color wheel - silly but you know how "precious" supplies get sometimes. I do have plans for a black felt pillbox hat that I made. I want to stitch shisha mirrors and various flat filling stitches into a typical Indian design. I'm still working out the design and haven't quite decided on the colors yet.
Christie - it was a very generous gift and I'm going to let her choose some hand dyed threads from my stash.

I did this with fabric when I was first learning to dye. I think I have used all of those samples in various fabrics. I have noticed that different brands of dyes get different shades. It is good to keep back a small sample of each one for reference.

I think I will do that Judy. I can put it into my color notebook.
