Hi Everyone! I'm Tricia. I live in the southern part of the US, currently in Alabama, but have lived in Florida, North Carolina, and Georgia, as well as overseas in the country of Moldova for about 3.5 years. We moved to Alabama for my work, but dream of living somewhere colder, where I might actually wear more woolen goodness. 🐏😍 I started knitting about 20 years ago, then crocheting (my mom is a big crocheter) about 5 years ago, and gave in to the urge to try needle felting about 1.5 years ago, then quickly caught the flat/resist felting bug. I've learned mostly through the tutorials and encouragement from the lovely ladies at Rosiepink (Hi Annie and Lyn!). As far as felting goes, I'm pretty much a newbie, BUT I'm in the middle of taking the Concertina Hat Class with Teri Berry (Hi Teri!), and thought I would wander over here and learn even more! Over at Ravelry.com, my username is tfoz and I have a fledgling Twitter account with the presumptuous name of tfozzfiberart, AND, I just started a Flickr account to share pics of the creations from Teri's class. It's www.flickr.com/photos/23720908@N02/Please don't judge Teri's excellent class by my work alone. Marilyn/mystermar/pandagirl is also taking it and has produced a beautiful hat with very subtle colors and "bling" from add-ins (Hi Marilyn!). I'm sure there are others who are also already members of this forum. ❤️😍 Thank you for letting me take part in it!🌠🎩👒🎓👑🐲🦄

Hi Tricia and welcome to the forum! Thanks for the compliment. I am way behind in class. but hope to get one more done before it ends next weekend. When I finish perhaps we can do a combined blog on our hats. My email is in my signature below.
Don't be that modest your hats are beautiful. I look forward to seeing more of your work.
I had to laugh about your comment on finding someplace colder to live. We try to avoid the cold in winter as much as possible. With sons in Florida and California we can usually manage. Perhaps come and visit Chicago for the winter experience. :-)

Thank you all for your kind welcome. You can come down here anytime you need some warmth. It was about 93 F/ 34 C today. But "winter" is extremely mild!

War Eagle, Tricia! I grew up in Huntsville and ended up in Dallas. It's even hotter here than North Al. Welcome. If you happen to find a fiber source/event in that area, please post. I love 'excuses' to travel back home. One of these days I'll make it to SAFF. Your hats are great!

Hi Elizabeth! I've heard Huntsville is beautiful. I'll definitely let you know if there is something fibery and local. The closest I've found online is in Columbus, GA. I'd love to go to SAFF, too. Have been dreaming over its website since I saw a post on here a couple of days ago. I was born in That area of NC, and am always looking for a reason to go there, too!

My dream retirement location is in that area. Unfortunately my DH's family is in Houston, so I doubt I'll ever get there other than to visit.
