She's looking forward to meeting you, if you have time. Marilyn, Sadly, I did not get your post before I returned. As it turned out, I only had 3 hours Saturday morning to do some power-shopping. I only hit the main barn. I will definitely go back when I can be more leisurely about it. The rush was that my nephew, his girlfriend & 8 month daughter are leaving the Baltimore area, heading for Seattle. My sis (his Mom) had planned a going away party for him. I really couldn't ditch a family party just to shop. Besides, they're a wonderful new family and I can always go back. I took a natural dying class, an indigo class (NOT as fiddly as I thought it would be), and a drop spindle class. I have loads of photos, to upload and write about. No problem Elizabeth. I hope you enjoyed your power shopping and family time. I look forward to seeing and hearing about your classes!

Daily dose yesterday was to make a pair of slippers using some merinox corriedale I brought recently. It felted beautifully, a few guard hairs showed up when I was fulling it but not visible at the finish. They are drying on the lasts now.I will do some edging trim with embroidery wool around the edges of the hole later.

I had a monthly dose of fibre yesterday and made a few smallish pieces intended for coin purses and a sample piece trying out a bit of pencil roving weaving I made using a cheapo kids' loom.

Thank you all,The lasts belong to good friend and sadly I must return them soon as we are having a felting together next week. Must be on a roll because I made a new hat yesterday and I think this one is finally a winner for me.( some of my hats just don't quite "get there" for me). Each one I make improves on the last and I really love the colors in this one and it is a good fit.I used some hand dyed silk to decorate the first layer and went from there. At the end I used the rest of the silk to make some silk flowers for it.They are not yet sewn on so positioning may yet change. he roving I used was First Edition Fibres "Kingfisher" which is a 22 micron Merino. My daily dose for the past week has been organizing and making papers and preparing masks for Ruth's Nuno Paper Lamination course that I'm taking online at the FFF.

That's a lovely effect Zed. I could imagine lots of places felted weaving like that could be used to great effect.
